This page says what Azita Mehrabi, at azitamehrabi.com, learns about you when you use the site, what it keeps, and what it never does with it. It is short because the site collects very little. Last updated 28 September 2026.
What the form collects, and why
The form on the ask-about-a-piece page asks for your name, your e-mail address, the piece or floor you are writing about, and your question. It exists so that a person in the room can answer you about a rug. The form is delivered by a third-party form relay, which forwards what you typed to the room's mailbox, [email protected], as an ordinary e-mail. The relay's own handling of the message is governed by its own policy; the room asked for nothing beyond delivery. Writing to the mailbox directly gives the room the same information by the same route, minus the relay.
Your message stays in the mailbox for as long as the conversation about the piece lasts, and for a reasonable time afterwards in case you write again about the same rug. It is used to answer you, to hold a piece for you if you ask, and to send an invoice if you buy. It is not used to send you anything you did not ask for.
The one thing kept in your browser
When you first arrive, a small panel asks whether you allow analytics. The answer you give is kept as one entry in your browser's local storage, under the key am_room_pref, and the panel does not ask a second time. That entry is read by this site alone and it is the only thing the site stores on your device.
Today, nothing acts on that choice. No analytics tool, no advertising script and no tag manager is installed on any page, and no cookie of the site's own is ever set. The only outside request a page makes is for its two typefaces, which come from a public font service and carry no information about you beyond the request itself. If an analytics tool is ever added, it will run only for visitors who switched analytics on, and this page will be rewritten first to say so.
What the room does not do with your details
It does not sell them, rent them, swap them or hand them to anyone for marketing. It does not build a profile of you. It does not keep a mailing list. The courier that carries a rug to you receives your name and delivery address and nothing else, and only once you have bought a piece.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask what the room holds about you, have it corrected, have it erased, take a copy of it away in a usable form, and object to any use the room makes of it. Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under their data-protection law. Visitors in California can additionally learn what was collected, have it erased, refuse any sale of it (none happens), and expect no different treatment for asking. Visitors in Canada have the equivalent rights under federal and Ontario privacy law.
To use any of them, write to [email protected] with the address you used when you wrote to the room. The reply comes from a person, within a reasonable time, and there is no fee.
Changes
Should the handling of information change, so will this page, and the date at the top moves with it. The image credits for the photographs on the site are listed on the terms page.
